25.05.2025 | “The world, it appears, has always been on fire”

Seeing the World Press Photo 2025 Exhibition at Here East, London was a powerful experience.
These images aren’t just news—they're human, emotional, and unforgettable. From climate disasters to conflict zones, the photos on display told some of the most urgent and moving stories of 2024.

In a world where nearly two-thirds of people get their information through social media, the way we connect with stories has changed. But powerful photography still cuts through the noise. A single frame can hold more truth and feeling than a thousand words ever could. It sticks with you.

I see stories all day, every day—on screens, in headlines, in passing. But every now and then, an image stays with me. That’s what happened here. These photos weren't just technically brilliant—they were brave. And I think that’s what sets great photographers apart: not just skill, but courage. The courage to be there, to witness, and to tell the story.
