Project OverviewNo One Sleeps is an ongoing experiment with my own photographs โ a collection of images made after dark, taken out of their original context and allowed to become something else.
The project begins in the space between looking and imagining. After dark, familiar neighbourhoods become quietly unfamiliar, and the smallest details can invite stories that may or may not be true. The photographs in this series explore the strange intimacy of being outside, looking in, up, down, back, and imagining the lives continuing just beyond view.
There is somethingsentimentalabout night.Iโm interested in creativity as a continuous multiplication of ideas โ one image leading to another thought, another image, another interpretation, another possibility.
Rather than arriving at a fixed conclusion, No One Sleeps remains a work in progress, documenting an ongoing process of making, altering and reimagining. What begins as an attempt to photograph a place or capture a particular feeling gradually turns inward. The work becomes less a window into someone elseโs life and more a set of curtains opening onto my own inner world, while offering a glimpse into the often-overlooked life of a suburban neighbourhood where nightlife is practically non-existent.
There is somethingsentimentalabout night.At night.
A lit window reveals very little, a tree becomes an unfamiliar shape, and an ordinary street feels almost theatrical.
I feel invisible, yet I am intensely aware of my surroundings.
I don't want to know the lives behind the windows, yet those windows draw me in.
I seek solitude, but my photographs are full of traces of other people's presence.
